Clocks have always been one of the favorite commodities of Chinese people. Since the founding of New China, the state has invested a lot of money to develop the watch industry, which has made it develop rapidly. Since then, China's reform and opening up and economic globalization have brought prosperity to the Chinese watch industry. After decades of development, China's watch industry has experienced the development process of feed assembly - appearance parts manufacturing - product development - brand creation. At present, a complete clock manufacturing industry has been formed, and all spare parts except high-end movement can be processed and produced.

 

From the perspective of regional pattern, six major watch production areas have been formed in the Pearl River Delta, Fujian, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shandong and Tianjin, with Guangzhou and Shenzhen as the leading cities; From the perspective of output, China has become a major clock and watch producer in the world, and the output of clocks and watches is in the forefront of the world. In 2011, the output of clocks and watches in China reached 159 million and 130 million respectively.

 

Although the development of China's watch industry has made great progress, the reputation and influence of domestic watch enterprises and their brands in the international market are still insignificant. Although the proportion of output has reached more than 80%, the proportion of output value is less than 30%, and there is still no voice and pricing power.
